Trigonometry demo

A new demo is now available for streaming on bandcamp.

This new composition for piano quartet follows in the footsteps of my earlier work, Geometry. Trigonometry draws inspiration from Reich's technique of slowly modulating lines and crisp minimalist textures. Harmonic and modal ideas unfold gently over the piano's ostinato.

Elegies demo

A new demo is now available for streaming on bandcamp.

Composed in August 2024, Elegies is a set of 3 sentimental works for solo piano. Written as dedicated gifts for three close friends, each piece explores the treatment of minimalist accompaniment and thin, tender melodic motifs.

At times, emotional. At times, hypnotic. A series built on the bittersweet grounds of memory and loss.

The Red Suite demo

A new demo is now available for streaming on bandcamp.

Composed in 2018, the Red Suite is the first in a series of chromatic suites for string sextet. It was composed with a clear emphasis on playful melodic lines and their development, with motifs weaving in and out of movements throughout the suite. Stylistically, it sits at the crossroads of post-minimalism and neo-romanticism, with a marked impressionism influence.

The ten movements span a consciously chosen selection of songforms; modern treatments of old dance forms (Red Foxtrot) and borrowed formats from modern composers (Red Gates.) The outline and placement of the movements form the basis for the whole of the chromatic suite series.

Composition is currently underway on the second in the series – The Cyan Suite.

A Portrait of Orpha Frank demo

A new demo is now available for streaming on bandcamp.

The Portrait Project is an evolving collection of intimate portraits composed for solo piano. Composed in late 2023, a portrait of Orpha Frank is the latest in the series. It begins with a stylistic homage to Satie's Gymnopédies before sculpting and teasing the theme through a landscape of sentimental extended chords and dreamy piano textures.

Jubilation no.2 demo

A new demo is now available for streaming on bandcamp.

Written for large string ensemble, Jubilation no. 2 is a lyrical post-minimalist work. An emotional and celebratory journey through lush and layered textures. A modern attempt at capturing the spirit of an overture, an important beginning, a festal yet contemplative expression of a moment and what comes before it.
